Come Dine Slowly with Me

Slow Food is a cultural phenomenon that emerged in Italy in the 1980s as part of the Slow Movement, opposing fast food and industrialized food production. Since its inception, it has spread to all parts of the world and become particularly popular in Europe. In Israel, however, it has yet to gain significant public awareness. This project introduces the Slow Food movement and puts Israeli slow food on the table, giving exposure to people and places in Israel that share the movement’s agenda and way of life, alongside helpful tips and recommendations.

The majority of images are taken directly from cardboard boxes found on the street. Fruit and vegetable boxes connect us to Israel’s flora, to local farmers and restaurants, as well as to recycling and reuse.
