Noam Eisenstadt:
My work explores surreal spaces, inspired by my observation and documentation of public places, and by imagery based on dreams and the imagination. Through my work I try to imagine chaotic and apocalyptic sensations, a sort of “after the storm” liminal moment. I create these sensations using kinetic sculpture, lighting and darkening the space in a way that reveals small additional spaces, ready-made objects, and photo, video and sound documentation of the public sphere.
I invite the viewers to take a moment to wander inside this chaotic space, hoping to enable them to contemplate inner questions while they move through a space filled with mundane moments on which I turn the spotlight, to make room for an experience they are not necessarily familiar with at an art gallery, an experience more common in movies, theatre, etc.
