Inbar Raz-Galili:
In my creative work I wander. Collecting memories and materials that translate into complex ideas that connect textures, composition, and light. The installation includes video footage, readymade objects, sculpture and screening.
The space stretches and changes with me, feelings are transformed into objects that form relationships with one another and with the viewers, relationships that are no longer dependent on me. Like a stream of consciousness disrupted by eddies and waterfalls, so the space simulates a tortuous and sharp process of coping with continuous emotional flooding.
Sloppy knitting full of holes, tulle fabric sewn onto metal wires, a weave of sparkling yarn, rusty nails connected to one another. I bring the sculptures into contact with video footage that becomes visual texture, creating shadows and stains of light. Each object reacts differently to the screening, sometimes it swallows up the light and sometimes the light flows through it. The flooding becomes sculptural material. I distill it and give it concrete expression in the world.
