Bulb is a ritualistic-meditative space, emitting a murmur of singing, spoken text and broken memories. The work explores the relationship between body and language, between suppressed, silenced anger, and the release of inner blockage.
Hunched clay creatures, born from the belly of the earth, surround a single-key piano. From their mouths emerges a bitter, foreign song; ground hums and fragmented thoughts. Together, they form a mysterious choir devoted to the sanctity of a single tone.
On a bed of green wheatgrass lies a liver, fallen out of the body. In a process of detoxification, the liver absorbs repressed rage and emotional waste, releasing its bile into the grass and space.
Together, they symbolize the energy of life: the sublimation of waste into fertiliser, and of single voices into a choir.
The bulb is breathing and shifting, in constant inner motion, forming slowly through capillaries, in an endless process of metamorphosis.
