The flesh does not tell one story, but many. Stories that soaked and absorbed under the skin, stories of people who lived together, but felt alone.
Venison is game meat, the flesh of an animal always on alert, living in a state of pursuit, finding peace only in death. This album was created out of the intense probing of the seam, the Teffer*, and out of the voices that emerge from the flesh, telling the story of the chase through inspirations drawn from noise, black metal, folk, industrial music, survival mantras, protests, women’s choirs, sounds of animals in the wild and emotions held deep inside the gut.
An album created so that we could, finally, let the flesh bleed, and the body be.
*I am Teffer, a seam. I was called this way because music picks at my wounds, but also stitches them back up, allowing me to keep going.
