Albert arrived here by boat, Albert was a fisherman.
A sound piece in several episodes, for four speakers and a sound-light-house. Scraped and collected from the waves of the sea and the asphalt of the Jaffa port, the piece formed out of convergence of synthesis and stretched recordings of metal chains, creaks of boats and ropes, fishermen’s shouts, movement of people to and from the port, the stillness of fishermen in front of the sea. To cast a line and wait, or to board a boat and flee.
Only without the fish smell.
✸ The piece will be performed as part of the New Music Department’s Output Events, on July 23-24. Admission is free with advance registration ‣ Wednesday 23.7 / Thursday 24.7
